Once you finished setting up your new page and you have published it (see more later), your old page will be replaced with this new design automatically.
How do I edit my homepage?
First of all, for best possible experience please use Mozilla Firefox while editing your pages. The pages will render great in all modern browsers, but the administrative tools are optimized for Firefox and we currently only support that browser for managing the page. Download firefox on www.mozilla.com/firefox/.
The new 1x.com homepages can be customized to a much greater extent than the old ones. All administrative features are gathered in the "Manage" menu to the right in the top navigation. Here you can find lots of useful features to setup your homepage:
Control panel - where you configure settings like custom domain, privacy settings, create new sub-pages, connect your homepage to Google Analytics or Facebook and much more!Photo directory - where you upload new pictures to your homepage.
Some pages, like "Gallery" and "Journal" has special options in the Manage-menu to administrate your galleries and journals.
What are custom pages?
Custom pages are pages that you create in Control panel and that you can fill with any content you like. The front page is an example of a custom page, so when you have finished reading this text you should go to "Manage -> Edit this page" and delete this text. Instead, fill it with a short presentation of yourself and maybe some images. Don't forget to click "Manage -> Save" every once in a while to prevent data loss if something happens with your computer or connection.
Drag and drop
Almost all objects in the settings dialogues, like pages, galleries and photos can be re-arranged by simply dragging them around.
Additional functionality
There are four modules included in the personal homepages:
Gallery - The most important module for a photographer. Here you can show your amazing photos in galleries.
Journal - Our blog engine.
Contact - A simple contact form and guestbook
Custom page editor - A powerful tool to edit your own pages
In the future we will offer more modules to extend the functionality of your page.
All pages can be disabled in the Control panel.
Control what is visible by publishing
Galleries, photos, journals and pages must be "Published" before they are visible for viewers. You can always see all objects, but remember to publish when you are done.
